It is so important to take notes when review papers or read books. However, most of the efforts to grasp the information included in the works is invalid or inefficient. Highlight techniques such as color coding play an essential role in reading memories. Here, I log some tips to effectively color coding.

  1. Color-code after initial note-taking

  2. Choose the right tools

  3. Be consistent

  4. Limit your color palette

  5. Use color-coding judiciously

Personally, I use RED to note the easiest content, use GREEN to record something you should recall by 3 secs; and YELLOW to reflect the materials you just have one picture in you mind, BLUE to represent the knowledge never heard.
